Note from the Publisher - March 2008

Deb Presley, Publisher
If your families’ music education is being derived from Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or a weekly dose of American Idol, it’s time to put the fake guitar down and slowly walk away…or rather, run. I’ll admit I understand how Guitar Hero’s flashing lights and mindless rhythms can be soothing after a stressful day, but there’s a whole world of authentic musical choices for your family within minutes of your doorstep. From Young People’s Concerts at Spivey Hall to local theatre events, and even, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Family Concerts, the musical choices for families are plentiful. This month, we spotlight the benefits of music education for your kids. Dr. Scott Stewart brings his passion for music to Just 4 Kids with an informative, enlightening piece. Hopefully, we will inspire you and your kids to new musical aspirations. To help launch your children’s new musical ambitions, we are offering 4 FREE Lessons at the business of your choice with our Make A Joyful Noise Drawing. Just email or send us an index card with you and your child’s name, address, phone number, email address, and choice of business from our special Music Section. We will enter you in our drawing March 31, 2008. There will be one winner per business. So have a musically merry March, enjoy this issue, and remember to tell our advertisers you saw them in Just 4 Kids!
